I am a disciple of those larger terminal eight descenders as they allow you to tie off ropes and even pass knots wherever ropes are joined with very little drawback, as others have noted. the fabric is light-weight, however it's a small amount heavier than a customary eight which can augment your overall weight. Still, its skillfulness outweighs the miscroscopic further weight in my opinion. In all, a good larger eight descender, that I received for an easy review.
