Since FT-86 Concept were presented, there are rumors about STi version.
Subaru regular 086A version mostly is going to be identical to Toyota version, with some exterior/interior differences. Standard version as mentioned in previous articles, will use Subaru 2.0-Liter flat-four boxer engine, with six speed- gearbox and rear wheel drive. Although many sources say that it will have 160 horsepower, we think that it can reach 200 horsepower as well.
People are looking for STi version because it will provide more horsepower for sure. STi version will use EJ25 2.5-Liter boxer engine which produces around 250 horsepower.
086A STi version will get similar upgrades as Impreza's STi version - wider front and rear guards to accommodate a wider track with wider
wheels and tires. To improve handling, 086A it will probably use suspension from the WRX STi or something similar to it. STi version could get unique parts like spoilers and bumpers.
There are rumors that Subaru 086A version will be presented at the 2011 or 2012 Tokyo motor show. It will be available at dealerships after that very soon.
